The Women's League donated $2,000 to the Reading Police and continuing efforts to enhance women's safety.
Chief Mark D. Segalla said Thursday that the Young Women's League of Reading has donated $2,000 to benefit the Reading Police Department's ongoing efforts to enhance women's safety.

The donation will support the Reading Police's Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) program, which is part of an internationally respected network of instructors committed to providing women with life-saving self defense skills.

“The Young Women's League of Reading is proud to support important programs in town, including the R.A.D. program for women and high school girls that is run by the Reading Police Department," said Erin Gaffen, Young Women's League of Reading President.

"We are extremely grateful to the Young Women's League for their commitment to the R.A.D. program in Reading." Chief Segalla said. "We rely on donations like theirs because they play such a large role in making this program possible."
