It was a beautiful summer evening by the pool at Bellevue Golf Club when the Women’s League of Reading hosted it’s Night Under the Stars fundraising event on Saturday June 1st. Guests dined al fresco, watched the Bruins clinch game 3 of Stanley cup playoffs, and bid on raffle baskets from Pamplemousse in Reading and a handmade American flag sign donated by Ken Lyons of Reading. The Andrew McManus Band kept spirits high and everyone dancing.
The best part of the evening was coming together to raise money to support a local family who lost their husband and father unexpectedly this year. Chris Dixon was a familiar face to many in Reading as he raised his 4 children with his wife Melissa. “It takes a village, in good times and in bad” remarked incoming Women’s League President, Julie Silbovitz. Women’s League is proud to bring that village together to support a valued community member and their family. We couldn’t do it without our guests and sponsors. Thank you to all who attended and a special thanks to Hudson Contracting Co and Anna’s Homemade Garlic Salts for sponsoring the event. Thanks for helping us kick off summer so successfully!
